- In 1948, Joseph Jones founded the first Guide Dog School without an upper age limit.
- It costs approximately $42,000 or more to provide a guide dog. Along with food and shelter, the cost includes training the dog and providing instruction for the guide dog user.
- It costs nothing for those who need a guide a dog and GDA is not funded by the State or the Federal government. They rely solely upon voluntary contributions.

Disease (Malaria): Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected mosquitoes. Find more info at the World Health Organization (WHO). 1 to 3 million people die each year from Malaria and 70% of them are under the age of 5.* For only $5 a net, AMF gives people the single most efective means of prevention.

Food Crisis: Somewhere in the world someone starves to death every 3.6 seconds, and 75 percent of those are children under the age of five.* This year six million children will die from hunger related causes.* Children's Hunger Fund fights to change that.

Water Crisis: 800 million people on the planet don’t have access to clean drinking water. Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. They're working to change that.
