Referrals: Better World Books
by John De Castro
There has been a major trend in businesses that help you make a difference just by doing what you already do. A few good examples are TOMS, Sevenly, Spogo.co, and many many more! They all do their part to help others and still run a business; we call them the Social Entrepreneurs of our time.
The company that we're referring today is Better World Books (www.betterworldbooks.com). They were awesome enough to include my responce to their question:
"What are the top ways people can make a difference this holiday season?"
In which we responded:
"Support the 10 for 10 campaign and give just 1 buck at www.1BuckStrong.com and help impact the lives of over 10,000 people, and still have money to buy presents."
So to return the favor, here's a little introduction to this extraordinary social adventure!

Inspirations: "I Love Living Life. I Am Happy"
by John De Castro
It's pretty much accepted that people feel good when they do good by helping others and here at 1BuckStrong we're all about connecting people with opportunities to do good. However, in order to do that we need to share with you the stories of hurting people and quite frankly that can get pretty depressing... So to counteract that effect we've decided to make sure we share inspirational stories with you as well.
Coincidentally (I don't believe in coincidences but anyways...) I saw a very inspiring video today at church, thanks to Pastor Ronnie. As I sat there, inspired, I decided in my mind, "this has to be the video we share for our first Inspirations blog post." So take a few minutes and watch this video... Then go out and make a difference!
"If I fail, I try again, and again, and again..." - Nic Vujicic

Everybody loves a hero, but it's time to bring some attention to the hero's much less appreciated and acknowledged side kick - Volunteers! Volunteers may not have the chance to save a life everyday, but they intentionally donate their time and skills to make a difference in someone else's life.
Make A Difference Day is celebrated each year on the 4th Saturday in October. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, it is the nation’s largest day of volunteering, thanks to the passion of millions of people like you. This year it was on October 22, 2011.
